Asian Recs has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads and no analytics. This page covers the website at asianrecs.com and the Asian Recs connector for Claude and other MCP clients at asianrecs.com/api/mcp.

The website

• Nearest city. On a first visit with no city in the link, the page asks ipapi.co (or ipinfo.io as a fallback) for your approximate location from your IP address, to open on the nearer city. That result stays in your browser.
• Distance sort. Only when you choose to sort by distance does the page ask your browser for your location. It is used in your browser to measure distances and is never sent to us.
• Saved places. Places you save are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
• Fonts. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of the request.

The Claude connector

• When Claude uses Asian Recs, it sends our server the search it wants to run: a city, and optionally a neighborhood, cuisine, dish, place name, or a map point for distance. It does not send your conversation, your name or anything from your Claude account.
• We use those requests only to answer them. We do not store them, build profiles, or share or sell them.
• A map point is used only to compute distances for that one response.

Hosting

The site and connector run on Vercel, which keeps standard, short-lived request logs (such as IP address, time and path) to operate and secure the service.

Reviews

Rankings are built from public Google and Yelp reviews and shown only as totals per place. Quotes shown with a place are short excerpts of public reviews, without reviewer names. Nothing on the site or in the connector is about any individual reviewer.
